The Revenant – Review

The-Revenant-2015-poster1

OMG !!! Alejandro G. Iñárritu just killed me two hours and a half in the best way possible ! It was so GOOD !!!

I don’t want to spoil too much for you guys because what I want is for you to watch, so basically, inspired by a true story, this film accompanies a frontiersman on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s who fights for survival after being attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own team.

How can I start, a heartful story, fantastic characters portrayed by excellent actors ( Leonardo DiCaprio just proved once more why he is the MAN ), fascinating visuals, full of extremelly intense moments, one of the best makeup artists ever as well as the costume designers, the soundtrack was very good too, the place and scenarios that they shoot were incredible and lastly the cinematography was magnificient…the scenes were so realistic wich helps you feel what is happening.

Also how can everyone review this movie without mentioning the bear scene ( I won’t be spoiling anything ) that is incomparable to any other scenes of man vs animal or any other scenes in general – It is very realistic, painfull and shot beautifully !

Conclusion, the director – Alejandro G. Iñárritu – responsible for last year’s Oscar winner for best picture “Birdman” may be having another win this year for this flick and if he keeps up this pase he is going to become, if he is not already, one of the best directors out there and possibly one of my favourite ones. So I demand you all cinemagoers to see this movie ’cause it will change your life forever ! ( I am not exaggerating ) 😉

Nominated for : Best Picture, Best Actor In A Leading Role ( Leonardo DiCaprio ), Best Actor In A Supporting Role ( Tom Hardy ), Best Cinematography, Best Costume Design, Best Directing ( Alejandro G. Iñárritu ), Best Film Editing, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Production Design, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Visual Effects.

I rate : 8,5 / 10
