Brooklyn – Review

Another movie that hit me out of nowhere !

Based on a book written by Colm Tóibín, this film tells a tale in the 1950s about one irish girl that decides to go to brooklyn, leaving her family behind, and in there she will get another life, even finding love, which will make her choose between these countries and the lives within.

I thought it was gonna be kind of boring but, as a matter of fact, it was very entertainment and I know I say this every time in my reviews but it is because it is the truth – once again the characters are very appealing and played very well by their actors – for example names like, Saoirse Ronan and Emory Cohen are to indicate, accompanied by a great love story and wardrobe too.

To conclude, this flick is a deep and emotional story that shows you how it is to live away from your “home” and, in my opinion, the love that existed back then and that exists now is very different. We see more compassion back then.

Although, I think that this one is the weakest nominee for the Oscars, at least on the category for “Best Picture”.

Nominated for : Best Picture, Best Actress In A Leading Role ( Saoirse Ronan ) and Best Writing ( adapted screenplay ).

I rate : 7,7 / 10
