The Martian – Review

This movie is an adaptation of a bestselling book from the same name written by Andy Weir.

The story revolves on an astronaut that gets left out in Mars, after being presumedly dead thanks to a storm by his team, and from that point foward he has to struggle to survive while NASA tries to find a way to rescue him.

I was very surprised by this flick, I mean, it has one of the best actors in Hollywood – Matt Damon – and one of the best directors – Ridley Scott – who once again did a fantastic job as well as the other persons envolved but it could have been a total flop.

Fortunately, it wasn’t the case, I found it funny ( which is weird since he is traped on another FREAKING PLANET ) so that was an interesting touch, it had an emerge plot ( very well explained ), a high sense of empathy and compassion for the character ( specially the main character ), it was smart in terms of the research made for this movie   and every single person that stood behind and in front of the cameras did an amazing job.

In conclusion, I was very impressed with this movie making one of the best of 2015 and a worthy nominee for the Oscars.

Nominated for : Best Picture, Best Actor In A Leading Role ( Matt Damon ), Best Production Design, Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, Best Visual Effects and Best Writing ( adapted screenplay ).

I rate : 8,3 / 10
